Mary has served on numerous professional organizations throughout her 30 plus years as an attorney. She is currently on the Executive Committees of the Indiana State Guardianship Association (ISGA) and the Indiana Association of Mediators (IAM).
Mary’s work includes the development of guardianship standards for family and professional guardians in Indiana. She has an experience-based insight in the “right to association” legislation that has gained national and state attention. Mary’s medical knowledge and mediation skills make her uniquely qualified to effectively help families during stressful life transitions and particularly in coping with dementias and other disabilities of aging. Mary has served formally and informally to assist many families in conflict. Mary is a frequent speaker on issues pertaining to guardianships and the elderly. Among other engagements, Mary has spoken at the Indiana State Bar Association Solo and Small Firm conference, at a conflicts resolution class at the University of Indianapolis and a webinar for the Indianapolis Bar Association. Mary teaches Elder Mediation in collaboration with the Indiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
Mary served as the Guardian Ad Litem for adults in the Marion County Probate Court from 2011 to 2015. She now concentrates her practice in adult guardianships and serves as guardian, guardian ad litem, elder mediator and attorney in guardianship and elder law matters.

Mary is divorced and the proud mother of a cardiologist on the West coast, an emergency room physician on the East coast and an aspiring physician in between. Mary enjoys personal work outs including spinning and body pump and is often seen riding her bike through downtown Indianapolis.
